Podcast Guest:
Lynnette Ellison
Lynnette Ellison is a UK-based founder and marketing expert who brings honesty, energy and plenty of real world experience to conversations about business, leadership and making work fit real life.
She’s a natural fit for podcasts exploring entrepreneurship, practical marketing and what can happen when we stop expecting every talented person to fit the traditional working mould.

Business, marketing and the real life behind both
Lynnette founded Wing Woman Plus while caring for her son, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Traditional ways of working didn’t fit her life, so she built a business that did – around trust, flexibility and the belief that talented people shouldn’t be overlooked because they don’t fit neatly into a traditional 9 – 5.
Wing Woman Plus has since grown into a plug-in marketing team, bringing together strategy, creativity and practical delivery for small and growing businesses. Alongside its client work, the business creates opportunities for people who may have struggled to access traditional routes into employment.
That experience gives Lynnette plenty to talk about: the reality of building a business around caring responsibilities, making brave decisions without having everything figured out and turning a different way of working into a genuine strength.
What could Lynnette talk about on your podcast?
These are a few places the conversation could start. Lynnette is equally happy following the unexpected thread, asking thoughtful questions and seeing where an honest conversation goes.
Building a business around real life
What it really takes to start and grow a business while caring for two people with rare, life-limiting conditions – and why flexibility should never be treated as a perk.
Leading differently
Why trust, psychological safety and genuine collaboration create stronger teams, particularly when the people in them don’t fit neatly into traditional ways of working.
Creating opportunity through business
How businesses can open doors for people who’ve been overlooked, including those not in education, employment or training, carers and people returning to work.
Making marketing work for small businesses
Why marketing becomes so overwhelming for busy founders, what tends to get in the way and how to make it clearer, more manageable and genuinely useful.
Trusting your instincts as a founder
The wobbles, imposter syndrome and brave decisions involved in building a business that reflects your values – even when doing things differently feels uncomfortable.
The ripple effect of showing up differently
What can happen when founders are honest about the reality behind their businesses, and how being visible can give other people permission to take their own route.
